We were really excited to work with the very talented team at Melissa Collison Design on a new Mexican restaurant in The Rocks, Sydney. Our handles were chosen for the rest rooms and took full advantage of the fun and creative collection that Philip Watts Design has created over the years. Little did we know the challenges that we would face!

For the female rest room, the beautiful ANGEL WING handles were chosen, cast from polished aluminium.

For the gents, to keep with the Mexican bandido theme, GUN handles were made, again cast in polished aluminium.

Several weeks later, as the restaurant neared completion, the ANGEL WINGS were delivered to site but unfortunately no sign of the GUN handles. Eventually we located them, held by Australian Border Patrol and refused entry into Australia as they were unlicensed imitation weapons! A gun licence would have to be applied for but as they were to be used in a restaurant we could not guarantee safe storage of an imitation weapon and therefore would not be able to obtain a licence.

Sadly, the GUN handles were not going to be possible so, with time running out, we cast some FLAME handles for the gents which arrived just in time. Have a look for yourself the next time you are in The Rocks, a visit to El Camina Cantina is highly recommended.
